Which Class?
What Class Should You Sign Up For?
If you remember the level of the class they completed last season, we recommend that you register for the same class or the next level up. If you haven't skated since last season sign up for the last class and the coaches will move the skater up if they feel they are above that level. If you cannot remember or have not taken class before, please see the guidelines in the table below and visit the curriculum page, click here.
**Aspiring Hockey Skaters are encouraged to pass up through Basic 5 to build fundamental skating skills and take one of our hockey skating classes: Pre-Instructional Skating, Instructional Skating or Mites Skating Class
ABSOLUTE BEGINNER SKATERS:
AGE 3-5 - Skate & Story
AGE 4-5 - Snowplow Sam Beginner
AGE 6-13 - Basic 1
AGE 13-18 Teen Skating Class
18+ - Adult Skating Class
INDEPENDENT BEGINNER SKATERS:
AGE 4-5 - Snowplow Sam Advanced
AGE 5-13 - Basic 2- Comfortable skating forwards, ready to learn backwards skating
or Basic 3- Can glide on one foot forwards and perform backwards swizzles comfortably
AGE 13-18 Teen Skating Class
18+ - Adult Skating Class
HOCKEY - Pre-Instructional Hockey Skating Class (age 4-10) - Can skate independently and get up without help
- House Synchro - For skaters interested in an intro to synchronized skating for 30mins once a week! Ideal for beginner figure skaters (Passed Basic 2 and up)
INTERMEDIATE SKATERS:
AGE 5-13 - Basic 4 - Can demonstrate forward stroking and half-swizzle pumps on a circle or Basic 5- Can do forward crossovers and backwards one foot glide
AGE 13-18 Teen Skating Class
18+ - Adult Skating Class
HOCKEY -
Instructional Hockey Skating Class (age 5-10) - Can stop by themselves and stand on one skate and glide easily
OR Mites Hockey Skating Class (age 6-10) - Can do forward crossovers and do C-cuts forward and backwards
FIGURE SKATERS
- Basic 6: Has mastered elementary backward cross overs and outside 3-turns
- Pre-Freeskate: Has mastered all outside and inside 3-turns, forward and backward crossovers
ADVANCED FIGURE SKATERS: All skaters that have completed Pre-Freeskate are strongly encouraged to take the following classes in addition to their weekly private lessons:
- JUMPS & SPINS:
- Free Skate 1 & 2 or Free Skate 3, 4 & 5- Saturdays, 1:30pm & Thursdays, 4pm
- Advanced Jump & Spin Class - Saturdays, 2pm & Thursdays, 4pm - (Passed Free Skate 5 and up)
- POWER SKATING
- Power & Edge Low - Saturdays, 2pm - (Free Skate 1 to Preliminary MIF Level skaters)
- Power & Edge High - Saturdays, 4:20pm - (Pre Juvenile MIF and up Level skaters)
- ON & OFF-ICE CLASSES
- Low Elite Class- Thursdays, 4:30pm includes off-ice 5:15-5:45pm- (Must have passed Pre-Free Skate)
- High Elite Class - Thursdays, 5pm includes off-ice 5:45-6:15pm- (Must have passed Free Skate 5 AND Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills)
