Coaching Requirements

Register with USA Hockey as a Player/Coach. Cost is $65 plus any affiliate fees if applicable. You will be prompted to enter your USA Hockey confirmation number into your Chevy Chase Club Registration and SafeSport Training.

When prompted to select a participant to register, select yourself OR choose + NEW PARTICIPANT and add your name and information for this coach registration.

On average, background screens take between 3-10 business days to complete. Cost is $30 for all domestic screens, which are valid for 2 seasons. USAH does not accept background checks completed for any other organization.

SafeSport Training is free and must be completed every year. You will first need to create a profile and then click the link to the Coaching eLearning and SafeSport Training to access the training.

You must first complete the Foundations of Player Development Module before purchasing an Age-Specific Module. Once completed, there will be a 15-minute window before you can purchase and complete your Age-Specific Module. Choose the module for the level you will be coaching (6U/8U, 10U/12U or 13+). Cost is $20 for the 6U/8U module all others are $25.

Concussion Awareness training is a yearly requirement per Colorado State Law (SB - 40). Coaches may take any Concession Training that meets the Colorado State Law mandated training. Two options are listed below:
