House Mites (8U)
If your player is new to hockey, or interested in a more casual environment, we would recommend our House Mites program. There are no tryouts for the house program, however the program will be capped at 40 players.
A waitlist will be available after the player cap is reached.
All players are required to wear full hockey gear for this program.
Registering players should have previous hockey playing experience or have completed a basic skating class to ensure they are comfortable on the ice.
Where
The house mites do not travel to any away rinks during the season, all programming is held at the Chevy Chase Rink.
Practices
Mites will practice twice a week at Chevy. (Exact days and times are TBD)
Schedule from the 2025-26 season:
Tuesdays - 5:10pm to 6:00pm
Thursdays - 5:30pm to 6:20pm
Games
The House mites play scrimmages on a weekend day morning against other Chevy in-house teams.
Jerseys
Jerseys will be provided for all players. If you were in the Mites program last season, you will use your jersey from the 2025-26 season
